Restoring Access Along a Pipeline Corridor

Pipeline rights-of-way don’t stay clear on their own. In the Gulf South, pine, hardwood saplings and brush can take over a corridor in a few growing seasons. That blocks access for inspection crews, hides line markers, and creates fire and safety risks.

Bindewald Maintenance was brought in to trim and clear an overgrown pipeline right-of-way. Our crew used a boom-mounted mulching machine to cut back limbs and encroaching trees along both edges of the corridor. Then we mulched the brush and debris in place instead of hauling it off. Mulching in place keeps the ground covered, reduces erosion, and leaves a smooth, drivable surface.
